Beckenham Town Profile

We are a thriving club drawing players from the Beckenham area and beyond. We will have 28 teams this season from U7 to U18 including 3 Kent Girls league teams. We are an inclusive club and try to have at least 2 teams at each age group. That allows us to cater for players of all abilities and play players at a level which best suits their ability. The key to player development is game time so by playing at the correct level we are able to maximise it for each player. Each team has an FA qualified coach and the club have a UEFA B head coach overseeing our coaching programme. That commitment to player development was recognised with our 'charter standard club' accreditation. We also firm supporters of the 'FA respect charter' and a number of our teams have received sportsmanship awards in the last few seasons.

Saturday Morning Soccer - Blakes Recreation Ground, West Wickham
All our primary school age players, including our U7 to U11 teams, train Saturday mornings, 9.15am to 10.45am at Blake Recreation Ground, West Wickham BR4 0RQ. We also have an open session for children of all abilities to turn up on the day (up to year 7) and train with a development squad. As with our existing teams the development squads benefit from having FA qualified coaches. We also have younger assistant coaches, many of whom play for the club including our U15 and U16 captains, to help the qualified coaches. Often younger and less confident players respond better to a younger assistant coach; the drills are always set up and supervised by the FA qualified coach.

New players will be invited to trial for a team when places become available. Unfortunately there isn't always a place available once the season has started. When a space becomes available or if there enough players to create a new team the club will try to start one if we can find a manager which is usually the biggest challenge. Our aim is to provide a high level of coaching for all players and good facilities so they can be the best they can be. Success for Beckenham Town is providing football in a safe environment for players of all abilities to enjoy their football. If we win a trophy great but what's better than seeing a kid with a smile on their face? We try hard not to lose sight of that goal.

If you wish to come along on a Saturday, please email info@beckenhamtownjfc.co.uk .
