Cheadle Heath Nomads Profile

Linotype Cheadle Heath Nomads F.C.

Cheadle Heath Nomads are one of the oldest amateur sports clubs in the UK having been formed in 1919. In 1921 they acquired the piece of land which still serves as the clubs homeground. At the end of the 2003/4 Nomads amalgamated with Linotype and Linotype Cheadle Heath Nomads FC came into being.

The club is run by an extremely focused group of volunteers who oversee all the clubs activities and finances. The Heath (the clubs homeground) has space for 2 full sized pitches and also an amazing 3rd Generation Astroturf pitch which is floodlit and enclosed within a perimeter fence. The club also has a licenced bar on the site which provides hot and cold drinks with snacks during games in addition to the full licenced bar which regularly holds live events. More information on hiring the clubs training pitch and bar can be found on the website.

Whilst football is a team game, the players are all individuals and each club player is treated as such. With the younger teams each player is given an equal amount of time on the pitch and are not judged on ability, all teams are equal and have the same chances of winning. Winning may be nice but here players are also taught to play the game skillfully in a sportsmanlike way and to show respect to the opponents and supporters in addition to the coaches and managers. In addition to the football side there are non footballing functions organised for the players and their families. We hope that what the children learn at this age will give them a good foundation for all their sporting life.

Linotype Cheadle Heath Nomads are an FA Charter Standard Club, affiliated to the Cheshire FA, and the club have signed up to FA Respect Campaign  and implement its' rules, ensuring a safe environment for all the clubs players. All the managers/coaches are qualified to a minimum FA level one standard, have 1st aid certification and have been CRB checked.

The clubs website gives more information and contact details for the club officials and Junior section managers should you wish to contact them.
