 The City of Southampton Youth Football League welcomes you; whether you are a member of one of our clubs or just a casual visitor we hope you find it interesting and thank you for your time.
This is our 40th season providing league football for Under 16 & Under 18 boys. In the early days the league struggled to grow and at one bleak time the league had dwindled to just one small division at each age group and its survival was in question. Derek Harris, who was then the Assistant Secretary of the Hampshire Youth Football Association, took over as League Secretary and, along with a small number of committed volunteers, reshaped & restructured the league and helped it grow to its current size and stature. Derek is now the League's President and, with a hard working Committee behind him we can look forward to yet another busy and competitive season.
This will be our second season utilising the facilities provided by OurKidsSports, using the football side of their web site to process player registrations, fixtures, results, league tables etc. This site also provides each of our member clubs with their own web space free of charge.
The popularity and high standard of youth football offered in this league is reflected by the regular applications the league receives from as far afield as Salisbury, Andover, Basingstoke, Alresford, Lymington and the Isle of Wight. The league continues to grow in size and stature across south Hampshire and was pleased to be able to be the first youth league to play the end of season Cup Finals at Southampton's St. Marys stadium, and hopefully not for the last time.
