THE TANDRIDGE YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE
An Introduction
Welcome to the Tandridge Youth Football League. Whether
you are a new club, having been part of another League, or
new to your role as Club Secretary or Manager, it is hoped
that the following pages will assist and inform you in both
League procedures and generally advise.
HISTORY:
Our former President and founder, the late Charles ‘Charlie’
Bradshaw, formed the Tandridge Junior Football League (now
Tandridge Youth Football League) in 1976. From the most modest
beginnings the League has grown to become one of the largest
in England. With the introduction of ‘Mini Soccer’ the League has
expanded further & now includes a division of u11 9 v 9 teams as
a ‘transitional’ game.
AREA OF THE LEAGUE:
As the League has grown we have absorbed and merged with
other youth Leagues to the extent that the Tandridge League
can now be said to extend from the River Thames to places as
far as Tonbridge, Crawley & East Grinstead. We now have regular
club membership from four Counties, Surrey, London, Kent &
Sussex.
As a result of being involved in more than three counties we have
to ‘sanction’ (or get permission to operate) directly from the
Football Association at Soho Square. Surrey remains our ‘parent’
County for affiliation purposes, having more clubs from that
County, although we also affiliate to London, Kent & Sussex
covering our entire member clubs County Associations.
