Charter Standard

The committee of Romford Flyers is pleased to announce that following a successful application the club has been awarded the prestigious FA Charter Standard.

This award takes many clubs years to achieve and it comes less than 9 months since the club was formed and is a reward for the hard work and commitment that the Coaches, Committee members, Players, Parents and friends have put into the club.

In the words of Sir Trevor Brooking - FA Director of Football Development :- "The FA Charter Standard Programme provides recognition that clubs are well run and sustainable, with child protection and safety paramount. It also recognises a club's commitment to coaching, player and coach development, and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game - all of which are big priorities for both me and The FA." To achieve the award the club had to meet the following criteria:

Have a Written Club Constitution

Have a Written Club Code of Conduct for coaches, managers, spectators and officials

Provide a Copy of recent Committee minutes

Provide a Copy of Annual Accounts

Provide a Copy of AGM Minutes

All managers to have a minimum of Level 1 Certificate in Coaching

Self certified screening of managers, coaches and officials

Appointed Child Welfare Officer to have attended an FA Child Protection Workshop in the past 3 years as well as an up to date FA CRB Check

Every volunteer who has unsupervised access to children must also undertake an FA CRB check

Have a good discipline record

What it means to us as a club is greater access to funding opportunities, the chance to participate in County led organised events and most importantly to make the club a better place for the children to enjoy their football.

I personally would like to thank everybody associated with the club for their continued support and hope that we can continue for many years to come to provide the right environment for the children to grow and give them the best experience that we can. Jon Hillier Club Secretary
