Welfare officer update1. The position of Club Welfare Officer is to be mandatory from the Season 2008 - 2009 for all Clubs with youth teams 2. Welfare Officers are to have an 'accepted' or as a minimum an 'in progress' enhanced CRB check via the FA CRB Unit from the season 2008 - 2009 As a consequence of this being made mandatory all clubs with youth teams will only be affiliated if the criteria are met by the start of the 2008 - 2009 season. The following two criteria will effect affiliation in seasons 2009 - 2010 and 2010 - 2011 3. Welfare Officers to have completed the FA Safeguarding Children Workshop (formerly known as Child Protection and Best Practice workshop) by the start of season 2009 - 2010 4. Welfare Officers to have completed the FAs Welfare Officer Workshop by the start of season 2010 - 2011
