Formed in 2007, Shirley Town now runs four sides: three youth teams in the Tandridge League (U8, U11 and U13) and a seniors side. The U8s team play their home games at Royal Russell School and the U11s and U13s teams play their home games at Shirley High School. Teams also train at Shirley High School. The club badge is a poppy because of the apparently world famous and oddly-petalled Shirley poppy, a distinctive flower that is indigenous to that area of Croydon. The head of the flower is red, white and black, hence the teams' colours.
