WARSASH WASPS SPORTS AND FOOTBALL CLUB

Warsash Wasps Sports and Football Club was formed in 1977 to provide local children with a football team that would help them to develop their football ability fully. Today, that small club has grown into one of the largest of its type in Hampshire. Warsash Wasps SFC now has upwards of 500 players from age 5 to Adult as members, fielding 28 teams in total.

The Club competes in seven different Leagues: Mid-Solent, WDGFL and The Southampton Saturday League on Saturday, EDMSL, SHG, Tyro, and of course The City of Southampton Youth Football League on a Sunday.

In addition, Warsash Wasps has developed its own ground at New Road in Warsash. The New Road complex now comprises of two 11-a-side pitches, an indoor sports hall with changing rooms refreshments shop, and committee room, together with an additional, separate changing facility. Satellite pitches are also used by the club at Osborne Road, Meadowside, and Hook with Warsash School, a few hundred yards from New Road.

The next major project is the installation of a third generation artificial training surface at our New Road ground.

Warsash Wasps SFC has a strong community presence, supporting local events, organising charity events, and providing one of the largest Fireworks Display in the area in November.

The club has always tried to move forward, embracing the concept of developing UEFA Coaching Courses amongst its Coaches and Managers. The club now has a large number of highly qualified coaches, something it is always seeking to expand.

Warsash Wasps SFC has worked very hard to become one of the very few F.A. Charter Standard Clubs at the top, Development Club level.

Always looking to move forward, Warsash Wasps SFC have expanded the club into Girls football, with great success. This season, the Girls section has 5 teams, at U10 to U16.

This season has seen the successful introduction of two new Adult teams. Both top their respective divisions in the Southampton Saturday League. The teams comprise mainly of players that have gone through the club from 5 years of age.
