2019/2020 Teams
Seasons

Beckenham Town Profile

We will have over 350 players in 28 teams this season. We are an inclusive club and promote football for all including our rapidly growing girls section and Saturday morning development centre which is open to all players from reception to year 7.

We believe game time is key to player development and try to have more than 1 team at each group so players have an opportunity to play at a level which suits their ability. Each team has an FA qualified coach and we have a UEFA B head coach overseeing our coaching program.

Joining a team requires a commitment to weekly training and games from September to May (with the exception of half term and school holidays)

*** 2019-20 Season Trials *** New players needed for our U11 (Year 6), U12 (7) U13 (8) & U18 (12/13). If you are interested in coming down for a trial late August / early September please call Alan on 0779 516 3150.

Saturday Morning Development Centre, 9.15am-10.45am

Training is from 9.15am to 10.45am, registration at 9am, at Blake Recreation Ground, West Wickham, BR4 0RQ. It is an open training session and development centre for children of all abilities from reception to year 7. This includes a separate girls section and girls are able to train with our existing teams. The development squad benefits from having FA qualified coaches. We also have younger assistant coaches, many of whom play for the club, to help the FA qualified coaches. Often younger and less confident players respond better to our younger assistant coaches. Drills are always set up and supervised by an FA qualified coach.

Joining a team

Players will be invited to trial for a team when places become available at a level that suits their abilities. Unfortunately there isn't always a place available in our teams after a season has started. If we have enough players at an age group and pitches available for games we will start a new team. Most Saturday coaches already manage a team so the biggest problem is finding a parent who is willing to step up to manage the team.

New managers are always supported by the club and we pay for the FA Level 1 coaching badge. Our aim is to provide a high level of coaching and good facilities for all players regardless of ability. Success for the club is providing football in a safe environment for children to enjoy their football. If we win a trophy great but what's better than seeing a kid with a smile on their face? We try hard not to lose sight of what's most important.

If you wish to come along on a Saturday, please email info@beckenhamtownjfc.co.uk .
