Our Kids Sports
2020/2021 Teams

Beckenham Town Profile

We strive to provide football to players of all abilitities and have 28 teams from U7 to U18, including 6 girls teams and over 350 players. We also have a Saturday morning development centre open to all players to turn up on the day from reception to year 6.

We believe game time is key to player development and try to place players at a level that suits their ability. Our UEFA B head coach oversees our coaching programme and all teams have their training overseen by an FA qualified coach.

Joining a team requires a commitment to training and games from September to May, except for Christmas and Easter.

Saturday Morning Development Centre, 8.45am-10am

Saturday morning development training is open to all players, reception to year 6 and you are able to turn up and pay on the day at £5 per session. We are splitting training sessions, development training is 9-10am and teams training starting later at 10.15am. Registration for development training is 8.45am so we can sort into age groups.

Address: Blake Recreation Ground, West Wickham, BR4 0RQ. The development squad benefits from having FA qualified coaches and younger assistant coaches, all of which is overseen by the clubs UEFA B head coach.

Joining a team

Players will be invited to trial for a team when we feel they are ready and places become available. Unfortunately there isn't always a place available straight away after a season has started. If we have enough players in development at a certain age group we are always open to creating a new team. However the biggest problem is finding a parent who is willing to step up to manage the team. We've set up more than 10 new teams from the development squad over the last 2-3 seasons.

New managers are always supported by the club and we will pay for their FA Level 1 coaching course. Our aim is to provide a high level of coaching and good facilities for all players regardless of ability. ALL teams have access to our UEFA B head coach and other FA qualified coaches. Success for the club is providing football for all in a safe environment for children to enjoy their football. If we win a trophy that's great but what's better than seeing a kid with a smile on their face? We try hard not to lose sight of what's most important.
